Tiptronic intermittent in Manual mode?

When shifting in Manual Tip mode occasionally I press up or down and it just doesn't change gear then if I move across to Auto and back it starts to work, it has done it a couple of times now has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks

Cleaning wheel arch

Doing a little spring cleaning, yes it’s the opposite in Tassie, Winter is almost gone! Anyway decided to clean out the rear wheel arch and to my horror I couldn’t believe how much dirt had accumulated behind the plastic.. No rust at all thanks to a well galvanised car but I would say for those who ...

Re: Exhaust Mod (Fister/Gundo Style)

I have to say the photo of the Fister mod muffler does show what a professional job they do.
Mine certainly isn't at that quality but at least you can't see it once it's back on the car.

Re: Hello from Tasmania and Dash topic

I was expecting before I bought the 996 to lower my expectations on the interior trim but I was not at all disappointed, I think it has enough feel of the lawnmower before everything got too modern with the 997, my opinion but I have had the early cars and a 987 ( which BTW was a great car but found...

Re: Exhaust Mod (Fister/Gundo Style)

Hi, In response to all that you are correct it was just an easier option as the other style of muffler has much more more room to do the fister hack and the other way just seemed the right option, so in my case it was as I said more straightforward for my situation, they are both worthwhile just pic...

Re: Exhaust Mod (Fister/Gundo Style)

They do look different to mine that’s why I went that way as the fister isn’t as straight forward.

I guess it comes down to what muffler style is on your car.

Re: Exhaust Mod (Fister/Gundo Style)

I don’t see why you would need to my guy was just a standard exhaust place but very helpful, I took in the photo of what I wanted and said do that.

Plus shipping mufflers is expensive and no guarantees they arrive in one piece if your transport is like ours!

Good luck

Exhaust Mod (Fister/Gundo Style)

So I bit the bullet and decided to modify the exhaust/muffler as per many video's on youtube. (Fister/Gundo..not sure which mine is?) I won't go into too much detail as there is a wealth of info out there but all I can say is it was easy and cheap plus the sound is perfect. I was a little hesitant a...

Re: Hello from Tasmania and Dash topic

I thought I would post up the finished dash, taking out all my labour the fix cost me $200 Aus Dollars, which was a bargain but really not a complicated job for the upholsterer. Before photo isn't great but you can see the wrinkles. Very happy with the result and as I said when I get a clear head wi...
