Re: What twisted reasons do you admire the Porsche 996?

Amen! ((Battle Cry)) Yes, we're different. We don't look same as the others. We don't perform like the others. But our failures are unique, our past is behind us, and our future is laid before; therefore, let's stick together brothas. Life is too short to complain about how we were born. We're NOT ...

Let us know when you start the go fund me to build your plywood wing to add more rear down force. I'll be happy to chip in a few bucks. I'm thinking this wing...I'm leaning towards the stick-on lettering, as well: njo1n28pip501.jpg I managed to hold it all together till I saw this post..........

Notwithstanding that the '99 996 I got had most all of the features that I wanted, I bought a 996 because everyone else looked down their noses at them. 8-)

Re: New owner reached out after trading my old car in

You should read my original "renovation" thread and all the glued parts that I had to replace. I did have thoughts of beating the previous owner with a rubber hose. It has cost me a lot of money undoing what the PO rigged. I mean how in the world glues parts together on a Porsche? Sick, lazy people...

Re: New owner reached out after trading my old car in

That's awesome. I wish I'd been able to track down my 996's past owner - I would buy that man/woman a beer for the IDP plenum alone. If I could meet the previous owner of my car I'd punch em in the face for pointlessly rigging aftermarket security systems and cheezy assed L.E.D. tail lamps into min...

Re: What twisted reasons do you admire the Porsche 996?

Probably my most twisted reason for loving the 996 is because most of the Porsche community looks past the 996 as an actual 911,and that means people aren't afraid to ruin their 996's, which in turn makes it easier for me to afford the price of entry. Plus people are less likely to fix stupid shit t...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

I installed my Quick release steering wheel and then swapped in the factory tail lamps (thank God) Had to get new tail lamp harnesses for the lenses too. I can finally look at the back of my 911 and not cringe lol Next up is a set of 0/2 sensor emulators to see if i can get rid of my 491/492/420 Cod...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

That can definitely be a disease. Although I spend a lot of time looking for my next purchase and I definitely have my eye on a couple of different models to add to the stable (X1/9 and/or a 914), I adopted a new mindset in the past year that has slowed down my "buy another car" lust: I'm not buyin...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

That said, my wife hasn't put me out of the house yet, but I'm sure by now she's thinking about it. My son and I just bought a B5 Audi S4 Twin Turbo..... this now makes for number 12....... I am now considering counseling for my automotive hoarding/fetish issues..... B5 S4's are *drrooooooool*. I a...
