Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

That can definitely be a disease. Although I spend a lot of time looking for my next purchase and I definitely have my eye on a couple of different models to add to the stable (X1/9 and/or a 914), I adopted a new mindset in the past year that has slowed down my "buy another car" lust: I'm not buyin...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

That said, my wife hasn't put me out of the house yet, but I'm sure by now she's thinking about it. My son and I just bought a B5 Audi S4 Twin Turbo..... this now makes for number 12....... I am now considering counseling for my automotive hoarding/fetish issues..... B5 S4's are *drrooooooool*. I a...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?
In the market for a new Type R(I know DT "Butt-ugly") but interestingly fast and fun to drive. I would dump the 996 but can't. I'm either going to build another garage or store something. The wife says no more in the driveway. Cars are additive.
Can't blame you for wanting one of t...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

Well, a lot of those high-tech inventions in the flat six were necessitated because of the insistence on continuing to use a flat six. A single-cam pushrod V8 is a dinosaur...just like a flat 6. As far as building monster output: building boost on a SBC is always going to be cheaper than building b...

Let's artificially increase 996 pricing by spamming listings for $40k. Then let's all rear end each other in one massive 996 gang bang.

Bruh, I'm telling you, If you're getting $33k Put $7k-8k with it and get a 996 Turbo...... I'm just sayin' You won't be disappointed....... Re: Windows dropping

Mine does this occasionally but it's only the drivers window. I also notice my interior lights come on when it does this. If I snap the inner door handle a few times it'll stop. I replaced the outer door handle micro switches on both just for the hell of it and because they're cheap. I'm thinking m...

Re: Why are our engines so expensive?

Meh, I think you're over generalizing the price difference between a $25,000 high tech 3.6 liter Porsche engine with Variable valve lift, Timing, Variable geometry intake manifold, Variable geometry turbine technology on the turbo cars, and Fuel cooling built right into the a/c system and fuel rails...
