Re: Poll - Do You Prefer A Manual or Tiptronic ?

When I was hunting for my current 996 I originally was looking for a Tiptronic. I had become very happy with the performance of the ZF 8 speed torque converter (with rev matching) in my 2017 Giulia. The new automatics (not even PDK) are amazing, and on the track they can't be beat. I had also had a ...

Re: Windshield washers not working

Mine became disconnected so that the pump was not sending liquid to the windshield spouts but just dumping out of the car and onto the ground. Take off left front wheel and fender liner and look for where the connection has come apart. No broken parts on mine, just needed to be reconnected. I also f...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Nice. Did you disconnect the battery for a while after replacing the MAF? The Motronic will start adapting fuel trims immediately, but disconnecting the battery will greatly accelerate the process. If you were within a few weeks of needing an emissions test, I wouldn't do this - but since you just ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Gave myself and the car a new mass airflow sensor for Christmas. Immediately notice a smoother throttle response. Christmas Eve my brother in law and his wife cooked my wife and I a wonderful Schnitzel. On Christmas day we returned the favor and cooked her brother and his wife a nice prime rib dinne...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Car is running great but time to do a little maintenance. 1.The windshield washers sudden stopped squirting liquid. That tank is full, so its just become disconnected. (need to pop off fender liner to find where the leak is) 2. A nozzle on the left headlight washer came off. (will take care of while...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Just driving it every day...enjoying all the long ways to everywhere. Must say Los Angeles has some of the crappiest roads ever. And I've been driving them since 1958. Some have not been resurfaced in all that time. Truly. Others not changed or repaired in a good 30 years. Still the car makes them w...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

I gave it the privilege of a paid peon car wash. Short dark skinned people, sweating under their bandanas and straw hats, scurrying around the car and wiping up the drops of water, cleaning inside the windows, splashing Armor All on the tires. (When I do this I always wear something that makes them...

Re: Any F1 or WRC fans?

I am an F1 fan, but I haven't had a working DVR for months. I finally have my crap dialed in for the upcoming race... Portugal was the best race of the season...maybe even last season as well. A great track with lots of elevation changes...and no one has driven it in years. Getting the right set up...

Any F1 or WRC fans?

I must say that I find the rally videos amazing...and the speeds for the conditions are equal to anything in F1...in my opinion. I'm enjoying my return to manual transmissions, but when I look at the latest WRC videos on YouTube I get caught up in how must faster you can go with the automated gear b...
