FRUNKenstein's 1987 928S4

OK, figured I'd start a maintenance log on this car, too. Purchased on September 5, 2014 out of Terre Haute, IN. Drove it home from there. November 2014 - Timing Belt/Water Pump. Mileage approximately 82,000 (I don't have the records with me at the moment) Also replaced the tires and did other work ...

Re: FRUNKenstein’s ‘75 914 2.0

I ordered a set of these rocker panel covers before we left on vacation: s-l1600.jpg They were an accessory offered by Porsche back in the day, but Auto Atlanta sells replicas made using the same mold. They arrived while we were gone, and I installed the first one on Sunday afternoon. Somewhat mixed...

Re: Warehouse 33 discount for 996outpost.com members!

I just turned on the discount code back on, but it's only 5% off this time, same applies to the Rennlist code. Like FRUNKenstein mentioned above, I was barely making a little above cost with credit card fees, shipping, returns, etc..... Have any questions, email me is the best. Been so busy since o...

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?

I was, then I realized that upon closer inspection I had embedded what I suspect is bird crap in the last coat, so the car is going for paint correction on Monday, then I will start again. It was interesting that I had not noticed it in the past, but new eye glasses revealed fine white outlines tha...

Re: Anyone shipped a car lately?

I shipped my X1/9 from San Francisco area to KC in May 2019. I’ve shipped a couple of others in the past few years. First, understand that as soon as you enter your contact info to get a bid, you will be called, texted and e-mailed for months. I got a voicemail just the other day asking if I still n...

Re: 1987 Bertone (aka Fiat) X1/9

Well, I picked it up today. Overall, I'm very pleased. The total cost for the color chage was $4,000. That's a bargain by any measure (the other quote I got was for $7,500). But, there is quite a bit of overspray that I need to clean up. It's not solid overspray - just little droplets on things lik...

Ah, didn’t catch the damn autocorrect.
The funnier thing is the ad for that car said “Jake Baby”.

And I know funny.

Re: 996Outpost monthly giveaways now sponsored by Kansas City Automotive Museum!

Well I'm back from planting the seeds that were enclosed, have donned my hazmat suit and am ready to review the other items enclosed. Very nice things found here! Of note is a vintage Triple A map! Now children, a map is a folded up paper item that displays roads, cities, towns and items of interes...

Re: UPDATE! RE: memberships on our YouTube channel

When I was shopping for a 914 a couple of weeks ago, I came across a “Jake Ruby” engined car. Apparently he developed a kit to turn the 1.7 and 1.8 liter cars into 2,056 cc engines. The kit is well regarded in the 914 world. Makes 125 hp (from a ~80 hp stock engine).
