Re: Ebike Conversion - My K2 Attack 2.0 w/ 48v 1000 watt front hub motor and 4x sealed lead-acid batteries

Always a good resume of a welder that the metal itself fails rather than the weld (bonus for the nice looking Tig weld) 8-)

Given the weight and that it's hung so far out, I'd add some braces down to the rear wheel frame. That should take the strain off that single joint.

Re: @#$& horn!

You should be able to open the engine lid without a working battery - you can on my '00, not sure about the '01. If so, you can use the jump points in the engine compartment to pop the frunk. At some point (01 I guess?) they switched the frunk and bonnet to have electric latches rather than the phy...

Re: @#$& horn!

Nope. Haven't messed with it anymore. Don't have anywhere to go that would give the battery a good charge after I jump it.

At some point I'll just bite the bullet and accept I'll need to buy a new battery and then see if my Indy will do a house call or get AAA to take it to him.

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

Since I rejiggered the overhead filament stand, the Makerbot has been reliable - but the issue with large-footprint objects warping up off the glass may be insurmountable without upgrading to a heated build plate, and I'm not sure I want to sink even more money into an obsolete printer. Don't know ...

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

The absolute BEST part is when the extruder inexplicably fails to feed plastic for JUST long enough to introduce an irreparable, fatal flaw - but not quite long enough that you'd notice and stop the damn thing printing. So far (knocks on wood) in 1000+ hours of printing I have have zero missed or s...

T-minus 5 hours until I'm the proud new owner of an X1/9 I didn't really want.

On a completely unrelated matter, can anyone recommend a good divorce attorney?
I have one. Send me your wife's contact info and I'll get her in contact with them.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

It really depends on the oil you are using. I find that while it provides a pleasant tropical smell, coconut oil will go rancid in a short time frame regardless of miles. Olive oil has a pretty low mileage threshold so you need to stay on top of changing that frequently. Canola has a higher threshol...

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

#1: What mean MMU? Sorry, thought I discussed this previously. Multi Material Unit It's an attachment that allows the automated use of multiple filaments (5 in this case) in a single print from a single extruder. You can also mix material types (e.g. PLA, ABS, Nylon, PET, etc..) in a single print. ...
