Re: Ignition Switch Replacement

As you likely know, these switches are in an awkward place. Once I finally wrestled mine out, I replaced the set screws with a couple of cap screws (with tips pointed on grinder), so I can now loosen them with my fingers. Should make next swap much easier.

Re: Racetrack Stuff

Ditto. Douchebag. Our club recently did a survey and interestingly enough, there were several comments that the club was TOO "racetrack" oriented and left non-tracking members feeling abandon. I agree with DT, DE committee= track/DE people, general executive not so much.

Seriously easy fit. You do need a 26mm deep socket though. Shallow doesn't get a goo enough bite.

Re: LN Engr Spin-on oil filter adapter - anyone installed one themselves?

thanks. I'll have to see if the floor jack will get it high enough for me, or whether I can parlay that into a good excuse to order in a Quik Jack. ;) Tell the wife you've been told you absolutely NEED QuickJacks to do this install, without the instal, the sun will not rise the next day and your ju...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Had a productive weekend in the garage! Installed new headlight tray (old one had plug bracket broken, so I had to pull wheel liner each time removing light), and installed a new turn switch assembly. Mine has the OBC, but I bought a three stock (significantly cheaper than 4 stock), and transferred ...

Re: QuickJack - anyone have one?

I got a QuickJack last fall. Car is up on it as I type. So far, I like it. Easily slides under my lowered C2, lifts nice and evenly, and stores away taking very little space. Height is great for wheels, near perfect infant using a roller stool. I can roll under it easily for oil changes. I like the ...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

My motor mounts have been sitting on my shelf since summer. I have done some very, very simple jobs on the new Porsche so some of my hesitation is that I'm afraid to screw something up (like breaking the filler tube) so I keep putting it off. Just have to take the plunge. Fear not. Super easy job, ...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Finally installed my Tarett monorail top mounts! I've had them sitting on the bench for months, but life keeps getting in the way. Good therapy a few hours in the garage, followed by a good dark rum over ice...good evening.
