Re: Photo roll call...post ‘em up!

Thanks. Vesuvius Gray Metallic. A real conversation-starter. A former owner had a pretty stout suspension setup installed. H&R springs, Billsteins, etc. A little rough for the street, but damn it corners like no other car I've owned. :P

Not a big fan of tinted windows, but it came that way. Same with the wheels. The previous owner threw in the stock wheels, but they are nothing to shout about. I love the looks I get at the gas station. :)

Re: Focus on Bore Scoring Video Series

VERY well done. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

I not only have a case of DT-40 on the shelf for the next change, but I'm probably going to replace all 6 injectors. No record of any replacements in the last 20 years, so...............

Re: Racetrack Stuff

It seems the prevailing attitude is similar to gambling in Vegas: if you can't affort to lose it, don't bet it. It would indeed suck if your car was taken out by some inexperienced, or bone-headed, or a stupid-aggressive driver...but I doubt there is any legal precedent to receive damages. Dumb ques...

THAT is scary. A shop that supposedly works on Porsches and actually has to solicit business is scary.

Re: Calling all simulator enthusiasts

A couple of people in our local PCA have simulators. I'll have to ask, because I know less about simulators than I do about the 996. ;)

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

When I got the car, I had no idea what the color was...just that we liked it. I looked up the paint code after the fact. It's fun at car shows to listen to people trying to figure out what it is. I finally made a windshield card to describe the code and what the factory color description is. :D

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

My ‘99 is Vesuvius Gray Metallic- which supposedly was a special order color back then. It gets a lot of comments & seems to change color with the light. It looks different in daylight, overcast, fluorescent lights, etc.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Two nice days in a row finally motivated me to take both the 911 and the Mini-S out for a good warm-up and exercise period. Stopped to get a little quality 91 Octane premium fuel with NO ethanol at the local Hy-Vee. For the first time ever, I had fuel burp back out of the filler neck. Good thing I a...
