Re: Coolant leak: time for some maintenance...

OK - it did turn out to be the water pump. Could not tell if it was the original or not, but either way it was toast. So new water pump, new thermostat, coolant flush and while it was there oil and filter change. I helped the economy today. At least this is something that hopefully I wont have to d...

Thanks! Full report on Friday after my Indy takes a look at it.
Sigh...

Re: Coolant leak: time for some maintenance...

Yeah, that's what I was guessing based on the location...here's to hoping it turns out to be something inexpensive and easy! That's what mine looked like when the water pump puked. Well, if it is the water pump that is not the end of the world. When I bought the car last year I did not replace it, ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Girlfriend's car will most likely be totaled after a kid with no license (technically he had one - it just wasn't his), no insurance, and no registration hit her trying to cross a 5 lane road with a double solid yellow line. Thankfully she is okay. She's been wanting a Prius due to her 1.5 hr hour ...

Re: Coolant leak: time for some maintenance...

This is my day today. Shit... Really did not want to have to deal with this over the 4th. Having towed to my Indy - he can look at it on Friday - hopefully parts are readily available as this is my daily driver until August. Shit... Dripping, even with the engine running, but it must have puked out ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Ohio gas tax goes up 12 cents and diesel goes up 19 cents tomorrow. Filled up all the cars this weekend.
We are still way cheaper than California, but still not happy about the tax increase.

Re: Tesla battery issue - smoke, then flash fire

Gotta call BS on that story too. The amount of fire was way more than one cell lighting off. Maybe one module - not sure how many cells are in a Tesla module, but that would indicate a BMS (battery management system) or a charging issue, not a battery cell issue. Kind of surprising that more Tesla’s...

Re: Adhesive? Suggestion

Probably too late to help but I had very good luck with Gorilla glue on my new speaker installation - had to glue the old speaker brackets (plastic) to the new speakers (metal). So far so good.

Oh - DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR FINGERS - ask me what happens...

First day in a while with no rain here in central Ohio. So I washed it tonight.
