Anyway...that's what you get for being a good Samaritan! :D
Yeah you do. Glad to hear everyone is ok, including the dog. I am always nervous in icy / wet conditions, not because I'm going to slip but someone else will.

Re: rack'm!

I never watched this show, but did they really call a Boxster a chick car? I mean, its a convertible I guess. There are a lot of other ones they could have chosen like a Miata. On a related note, the oldest is two years away from her license. Is it wrong of me to be excited about picking out a car ...

Re: rack'm!

On the rack, doing final testing of all engine components (bore scoping, compression, cam dev, fuel trim, rough running index, manometer test, coolant system, emissions, etc.). Damn, it's a good thing you didn't buy a Boxste'. sddefault.jpg I never watched this show, but did they really call a Boxs...

Re: What would you do?

Be honest, which would you rather purchase... 1. a 25 year old low-mileage (under 50K miles) Porsche 996.1 C2 base in perfect cosmetic condition with regular basic service for $25K-$30,000 OR... 2. similar 25 year old high-mileage (over 100K miles) Porsche 996.1 C2 base in rough cosmetic condition ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Just noticed something very interesting. Many people believe that Porsche never recognized even after the settlement in the class action suit, that IMS failure was a big problem. Many have claimed that their Porsche dealership act like they know nothing of the problem and don't offer any type of re...

Re: The time has come. 996Outpost will be closing shop on August 31, 2023

Like our fun times on RL, everything has a season. Lots of jokes, banter, and even a prank that got a certain individual banned. ha! That being said, you're all welcome to join the Porsche 996 Enthusiasts and DiY group on Facebook. Dallas, Jeff, and I are all admins. I know some of you hate the tho...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Anybody else get one of these for Father’s Day? IMG_5722.jpeg No, although the wife finally visited the local dealer and I got some cool swag. They have some nerve with that subtitle. Rarely is "the unexpected" good when you are talking machines. "Expect the Unexpected...Like Engine-...

Re: The time has come. 996Outpost will be closing shop on August 31, 2023

I totally get it, doesn't mean I am not sad. I haven't checked in here too much lately, work has been all-encompassing and when that klaxon isn't going off, the kids and wife want to know what I'm doing. But I had fun. These cars get a lot of shit, in the press and even among fellow Porschefiles, al...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

You see a lot of Quattroportes around here, driven mostly by older Italian guys who want to pretend they're connected. I always think they're Jaguars until I see the holes in the fender. A Giulia looks like a Lexus. Not sure whether the everyone has caught up to the Italians, or are the Italians out...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

I do not wish play in this "low cost" game...😬 No me either. After the major outlay two years ago for the Solution, odds and ends, and the alternator I am sure the indy I don't use anymore broke, I've had a clutch slave cylinder, water pump and now the valvetrain actuator (plus tires) the...
