Re: Anyone got a clamp Ammeter and non-wonky 996.1 handy?

Wow. Way overkill, but thanks as it gives me way more debugging info. For anyone else that can help, just the reading after unlock (once lights and whatnot are off) and running with accessories off is plenty. I always double-press the fob which disables the interior sensors Almost 22 fucking years a...

Re: Anyone got a clamp Ammeter and non-wonky 996.1 handy?

Make sure your clamp-on ammeter has a "DC" setting. A lot of cheap ones are AC only. I would be happy to check the readings on my '01 Turbo if that would help you. I'll take what I can get, but I know your running value won't mean much and I don't know if there are vampire differences bet...

Re: Anyone got a clamp Ammeter and non-wonky 996.1 handy?

I assume you got the battery checked to make sure it's good . . . Even the shop had to admit that it tested fine when they tested it. I pulled it from the car after making this thread and where it wouldn't put the window back up after closing the door yesterday, it did so fine this morning and I di...

Anyone got a clamp Ammeter and non-wonky 996.1 handy?

If anyone has a clamp style Ammeter handy, can I get a favor? Can you get a read on your 996 (MkI ideally) both turned off and running? I think my shop fucked something up when they replaced our security module. There have been weird intermittent issues (interior lights not working, blinker issues, ...

If anything I think the OBC got a tad bit more accurate (like 1.3 vs 1.6 over) after the recall was applied.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Is your gas mileage real or based on the Porsche onboard calculations... First of all calm your  a bit. Based on my driving habits its 24mpg vs 12  Still though... I just watch the OBC values any more. I religiously tracked it by hand for the first couple of years though. The OB...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

If the F250 is a diesel, man, that trip to the gas pump has got to hurt (even more)! The 26 gallons for my P!g is not fun, but then I remember that I get at least 2x the mileage out of it compared to the gas versions. So it comes out ahead in the end especially since diesel is only $0.20 over premi...

Re: Key FOB scanners

WWSD is probably not the best way to live your life if you want to still have all your appendages when it comes to an end. It's definitely the wrong life guide should you discover that there is a Human Centipede remake in the works and you ask yourself (because that is what Schnelly would do after a...

You're getting as bad as Cuda...

I'll be curious to hear your impression of it, especially compared to the P!g. I've given both the XF and F-Pace the side eye for tempting me back to Jag again.
