Re: Pay it forward: post up your freebies here...

I've got some 928 stuff taking up space in my garage. I thought I could sell them, but no takers so far: 1981 - 1984 Air Flow Meter. This was on my car for a while but mostly was on a shelf. Not sure of the mileage but the interesting thing is that the CO2 hole is not drilled out. These are NLA from...

Re: What's in your toolbag?

This isn't for breaking loose lug bolts or anything where you need a ton of torque. It's for when you'd use any normal 3/8" ratchet - which for me is a lot. I use this for just about everything (interior, suspension, underbody panels, exhaust, motor mounts, etc...) prior to busting out a torqu...

Re: The Dreaded IMSB

I've got a sort of relevant question. I am two years (and tens of thousands of miles) away from the time limit on my LNE bearing. Has anyone had the bearing installed long enough to have to go through replacement? How did the bearing look? Does the car need to be re-evaluated again (and thus may fai...

Re: Racetrack Stuff

I will most definitely take you up on your offer! The wife said she'd come along on a gimmick rally, so I'm looking forward to getting more involved. Cmon, still time to register: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/friday-at-track-march-16-2018-summit-point-circuit-993854 That’s the day before th...

Re: Racetrack Stuff

Obviously bad things can happen. I'm not as fancy as Pete but I do instruct with Chin Trackdays, Friday at the Track (Summit Point's in house track day program) and TrackDaze, possibly also with Audi club this year depending on my calendar. Pete got it right and if you've never tracked your car, um...

Re: Racetrack Stuff

I joined the North Jersey PCA, and so far am enjoying my membership. One of the things I am interested in is their DE program. I am eager to get the car on the track where it belongs, but am concerned about damaging it. According to the PCA, they say these events will be both safe for me and my car...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Previous to my 996, I owned a 928. So I went from a car that has a reputation for catching fire (not unearned) to a car that only blows up internally. So, making progress?

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

I thought of that too, but it really sounds like its coming from the front wheel (which could be a function of it bouncing off the garage wall or something). I think next time I park the car I'm not going to engage the brake, just leave it in gear. If it still clunks, that eliminates the PB as a su...
