Notwithstanding that the '99 996 I got had most all of the features that I wanted, I bought a 996 because everyone else looked down their noses at them. 8-)

Since I had the LN Engineering IMS thing done, I've opted to try their Driven DT-40 oil that is allegedly forumulated for the M96 motor. I have a case sitting on the shelf....waiting for the weather to warm up. :)

Hope not [ those $6K headlights]. That price would represent a good portion of the overall value of even a pristine 996.

Today I installed one of two CG Locks that I got for the 911. Driver side today. I got one for the passenger side for an instructor - I hope to do a lot of DE work next season. One tip for the 996 with the CG Lock - I ended up using the medium length screws to get it clamped on the buckle correctly....

Thanks for the clarification. I had always assumed that these were the same thing, just that Fister does a very professional job. NOW I know the difference. I'll probably go with a FD mod over the winter, as my 911 is a tiptronic - not that it makes a difference. I like the black finish that FD can ...

This last Sunday at our annual Oktoberfest All-German Car Show, someone in our local PCA chapter handed me a business card for 996 Outpost. Since I just joined the madness with a '99 911 last November, I could not resist. :)
