Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Headed to Willow Springs in the morning. Looking forward to it! New wheel and tire setup I will be trying for the first time. An insanely fast track! Gotta admit, turn 8/9 still scares the crap out of me. Best part... my oldest daughter is coming out to the track. Her first time ever at a track eve...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Today I pulled the inside driver door release…and something popped, and now there’s about half an inch of play in the handle…if I pull it out, the window drops to open-the-door position; if I push it in, the window goes back up. Adding it to the list… Well you should know better than to go all The ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Got my second Moderna booster yesterday because old-ish fart…and goddamn, this thing is kicking my ass. I was a little achy after the initial dose, but this booster is something else entirely. Joint pain, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, headache…pretty much the entire list. I contracted c...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

I think I am evidence to the contrary and you know from private conversations that I'm pulling in slightly more than minimum wage. Every year my company makes us build these elaborate performance plans for the year about how we are going to make the company better (as if a peon in a 60k employee co...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

The load balancer / app delivery controller has ALWAYS been the thing our devs (and dev management) point to when they don't understand why shit doesn't work. For more than a decade, I've been hearing "my code looks fine...it must be the load balancer" as an explanation for why code writt...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

I think maybe it's getting close to time for a career change for me...I just told my business partner during the dev standup "It's not my fault you don't understand how shit works." It's entirely possible I was giving him the double-bird at the same time. Sometimes you just have to say it...
