Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Heh - one of my sales reps was going on and on about how she was gonna get a Saab - and then she FINALLY bought a Saab...but a modern one (read: a Malibu re-badged as a Saab). I referred to it as her Malibu for the duration of ownership, which was disappointingly short from my perspective but seemi...

Re: Racetrack Stuff
+996. At this point in my life, the DTM method is the only racing that makes sense. Maybe someday (but realistically not) I'll have the kind of disposable cash to throw at cup car racing. But then I'm sure I'd be a douche also and these guys just don't sound that fun to be around. Seems like a cons...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Any of you guys go to a 24 hour race at the ring? Was planning one for this summer for a week in Germany.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Yea, no doubt about it. Can't tell you how many times people have said the reason the Mezger 996 cars don't suffer from IMS bearing failure is because of the lack of an intermediate shaft. Even saw a sponsored article on RL say it. I pointed it out to Raby and you should have seen his response. hah...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Speaking of fear mongering, last year I was at a Cars and Coffee event and the owner one of the local Porsche specialist shops walked up and said "You know you have a ticking time bomb there with that 996 of yours, I can fix the IMS on it so you dont have to worry about it again..." I was ...

Re: Widowmaker Project (Building a Faux GT2)
With a solid day an a half available for some time in the garage with the Corrado it offered a perfect opportunity to work on the interior harness. With the Corrado's main focus being a bare bones simple car for back road runs and the occasional track day there are many things that are no longer nee...
