Re: Taycan has Torch Boy issues too

So why is it we hear about EVs bursting into flames like this, but not hybrids? It's not as big, but hybrids still have an insane amount of potential energy stored in their batteries. Is there something inherently different about the pure EV design that makes shorting batteries more likely? Or is i...

Re: Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds

Damn - a pretty nice 1999 cabrio, six speed with 101,000 miles just sold on BAT for $16,500. Brand new top and hydraulics. Looked to be a pretty nice car. Apparently there are some COVID deals out there right now.

Re: Summer Wheel Search

You have probably already checked them out, but I keep getting emails from ECS Tuning with all kinds of stuff on sale right now, including wheels. No idea if they even have any decent wheels for your TT though. All that I have ever purchased from them are small parts like a non-smoker kit so not a ...

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?

No idea but someone needs to work on this. I always lose the damn straw. Probably have three cans of stuff missing the straws. Where the hell do the straws go??? Must be a small black hole on my workbench... :( Daryll The Straw Gnomes are the sworn enemies of the Underwear Gnomes. They do not have ...

Re: Summer Wheel Search

So, I decided that, Covid-19 crisis be damned, I am ordering new wheels to go along with a new set of summer tires. This is what the rears on my car look like at the moment: 9F82A771-EE6A-4539-A57B-278D19D6802C.jpeg So, clearly it’s time. General GMax tires are on sale through April 30th by way of ...

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?

I also lubed the wastegate actuators. I had to make a second trip to AdvanceAuto to get some silicone spray lube. I’m intrigued by the design of the cap, with the 2 notches - what the hell are they for? I thought maybe for the little red straw taped to the side of the can, but it doesn’t really fit...

Re: Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds

Your car was mechanically excellent, which seems to be the hot button with 996’s on BAT. Today a pretty nice looking white 2002 Cabrio with 60k miles sold for $19,996. Seemed low, as it had all the normal stuff done too. But if I needed a car right now I would have been all over yours. Daryll Well,...
