Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Pretty quiet in here. All you geezers on extended nap time? Nah...just returned from 5 days with the 996 in Big Bend (west Texas) country. Many insects got slaughtered, a few roadrunners got scared 5hitl3ss (fun fact, they CAN fly if their life depends on it), and many gallons of gasoline were turn...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Thanks, Billy. I was actually going for a vintage aviation vibe, but I suppose sprint car wing kits works, too. And thanks for the birthday wishes. I got my first Navy retirement paycheck last week, and have paid my last $2,200 per month family health insurance premium as of this month. Now that yo...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Was at the Chiefs' Super Bowl parade and rally yesterday. It was a great time . . . until it wasn't. Actually, the event was over and a lot of people (including me) had left the rally area before the shooting occurred. I didn't know anything about it until about 20 minutes after it happened when my...

Suggested attire: Creative Cocktail [/b] Well la de frickin da! Seriously?? Would cargo shorts and an Outpost tee shirt qualify for "suggested attire"? Well, 'creative' leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Lederhosen are likely off-limits. Socks, optional. Heck, in rural America where...

Count me in! I have permission from She Who Must Be Obeyed. I'll be driving up from North Texas in the 996 (of course), and plan to invade both the PCA breakfast and the Museum's fundraiser. Now, let's figure out what to do between these two bookend events. Jeff -- I assume we each procure our ticke...

Calling that thing "UAF" is an insult to things that are only "UAF".

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
What I learned today: A football coach in the NCAA can break more rules than Bernie Madoff did on Wall St and the NFL will still welcome him with open arms as long as his team won all their games. Truly a defining statement on our society. "NFL" = "National Felons League" (or &q...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
It's interesting that they put 3 QBs and one receiver in that graphic. It's not like Jared Goff is some kind of rummy just handing the ball off. Well...the three QBs included in the NFL's graphic are on their respective divisions' Pro Bowl Squads. For Detroit, it would've raised fewer questions if ...

Re: Tesla battery issue - smoke, then flash fire
Given how strained the power grid in Texas can become during really cold (or hot) weather, I think it behooves us to unplug all those stationary EVs whenever we spot them to protect power grid stability!
