yuk yuk :) The sno-seal has an uncanny ability to soften up worn bolsters, and it lasts too. I'll treat mine again next month when it's hot. The dye is a helpful tip though, thanks for sharing. Is your car about done in terms of heavy lifting? It sure seems to be turning into a 'good one'. Coooool....

Some people have been relatively successful with just patching it with a large heat shrink tubing, but of course, the best route is to replace it.

DT, man you need to back away from the computer and take a deeeeep breath. You don't wanna go do something harsh and sell your nice 996 over a little silly oil filler tube. Sno Seal (recommended by Cuda) really softened up my driver's bolsters. Apply on a hot summer day to let the leather absorb the moisture.
