Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Sorry you still picked the correct car. Today, I looked at the Corvette - with its maintained battery and full gas tank, and though, "nah, I'll take the 911." So there I was, calling AAA from the 7-11 parking lot. I called at 7:05; by 7:30 I was back on the road to my office with a new bat...

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

Don't let him go outside with that!! Latest toy* for the oldest (he makes odd color choices, but it kinda works): IMG_20210519_182655.jpg It's from https://foamknight.com/ and only has a handful of non-printed parts. Nice things about this one over others that it is based on: - It has a non-embarras...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Raccoons are omnivores, meaning they will eat both plants and other animals. This includes fruits, berries, nuts, fish, frogs, mussels, crayfish, insects, turtles, mice, rabbits, muskrats and bird eggs. ...and garbage if they are urban dwellers. The possum menu consists of dead animals, insects, ro...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Gator is good if cooked properly. Rattlesnake...meh. Raccoon...NOPE never had it!(see comments concerning possum) they're just a cuter animal. Having a mom from the South GA swamps I have heard recipes for coon, gator, and rattlesnake. I've never felt that I missed out by not having experienced any ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

"East Texas"...there's your problem! :D I have at least one East Texas recipe that calls for "jackalope" - meaning whatever critter you find by the side of the road. And Europeans say Americans aren't cultured. pfft If it doesn't pop when you stob it with your pocket knife, it's ...

Re: FRUNKenstein's 2002 996tt

What's up with the camber on the right rear? So, back on April 9th, I drove across an intersection where they had scraped off a 2" layer of asphalt before laying new asphalt. Long story short, it bent 3 of the 4 of my new rims. *&^%$#@!!! It was due for an alignment anyway, so I took it in ...

Re: FRUNKenstein's 1988 E30 Cabriolet

SCORE!! Car still looks nice. I bought this car back in June 1999. It was never a daily driver, but has been incredibly reliable. I eff'd up back in about 2002 by not changing the timing belt and had it snap. Although it is an interference engine, it ended up only being about a $1,500 fix. Other tha...

Seen 'em, have known of 'em, don't have any, don't need any. Thanks for listening. Today's Topic for Discussion: Flare Nut Wrenches, AKA Line Wrenches Need 'em, or just another tool to spend money on and rarely actually use? Last night I replaced the master break cylinder on my E30 cabriolet. The on...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Well no breakfast for me as I just lost my appetite. BTW I was born/raised in Texas and won't even eat armadillo which was consumed liberally during the Depression by Texans. So possums are not on my menu neither are Mastodons. Coming from the South and all that, I understand this is THE BEST Possum...
