If an IMS bearing fails in the woods, does it make noise?

Re: RL Thread on Fuel Wash and Injectors
The mythical frailty of the 996 and the mythical power of certain oils or other mystery products and procedures are why I stopped posting over there for the most part. Groupthink is strong over there. Groupthink has blown up a space shuttle, I don’t need that for my 996. Apparently general automotiv...

Re: Got the oh so fun CEL
Wow, long wait. Keep us updated as to how it goes The long wait was due to manufacturing and none in stock :(. I ordered them yesterday and they arrive Monday that’s fast. They are selling pretty quick too and they have lots of satisfied customers on RL. I need my CEL cleared so I can get legal aga...

Re: Racetrack Stuff
All Miata swaps are weight favorable really, when you consider overall performance. The V8 swaps add 100-200 lbs and a lot of it is in the transmission and rear end. The K24 swap loses 20-30 lbs off the front. All of this and you keep the double wishbone suspension front and rear. Another reason I’m...

Re: Racetrack Stuff
K24 swaps are doable but it'd be cheaper and actually easier to do an LS swap. The "economical" HP approach is either turbo it or ecotec swap. Ecotec swap is 200 ish wheel HP for $5700 turnkey: https://www.ecotecmiata.ca/turn-key-conversion I’ve priced it all out and the K24 swap is cheap...

Re: Got the oh so fun CEL
Top gear finally got cats back in stock. Ordered yesterday and will arrive from the UK Monday! I will snap some photos. Only worry is that it’s so dang hot out now working on cars is pretty miserable.

Re: Racetrack Stuff
God bless the power of the internet. "I bet the white striped wire for the oil pressure sensor is plugged into the starter instead of the solid black one, they have the same plugs and it's a common mistake" Switched them, and we have a running engine. https://youtu.be/sN7oYXxNxvg Congrats...

Wow those lights look sweet compared to the C4 OEM lights. How do I get those for my 91?

Re: Racetrack Stuff
It’s a Miata 1.8. There really isn’t a lot to worry about. They get really expensive if you try to make lots of NA power or turbo power with them. At that point the V8 becomes more afFORDable. I priced turbos and LS swaps too. It helps that I drove and worked on Mustangs when the 5.0 was king dingal...
