Re: DIY 996/997 /986/987 Solid LCA Bushing Install

I just realized you posted a sketch of the tool. Don't know why I didn't see that before. I have CNC equipment at work and could make a few bushings though. On the fence about which direction I want to go. How are you liking the solid bushings so far? So far loving them as they ...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Now that looks like a mess! Yikes! I know! Last time I changed the oil, I tried to do it without getting the car in the air. The oil catch pan just fit under the car (PO lowered it). I took the plug off, dropped it, and it landed in the catch pan drain hole. So, oil gushing out with no where to go....

Re: Widowmaker Project (Building a Faux GT2)

I'm with you. This garage make us all look bad! hahaha  I also have a question about your lift. With the rear weight differential of these cars being heavily biased to the rear (of course)... should you do anything to the lift to minimize accidents? Not sure if it's just the photo, but the car...

Re: Widowmaker Project (Building a Faux GT2)

Thanks for the complements on the garage. Been doing a ton of work to it over the past year, you can follow the garage build here http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?8901249-Turning-an-old-1920-s-Ford-Garage-into-a-DIY-Garage For the cross member the main thing is weight savings where ever pos...

Re: Widowmaker Project (Building a Faux GT2)

Did some stuff this weekend with swapping out the cross member for the later 997 unit (997.331.261.02) and cleaning the radiators. Started to get ready to drop the front differential out but ran into a snag of not being able to find my 32mm impact socket. So have to pick one up today at lunch. https...
