Storing Extra Set of Tires and Wheels

I need new shoes on the Turbro, and I'm leaning heavily toward buying a new set of wheels to go with the new tires. My current wheels are 18x8 fronts and 18x10 rears. The new wheels will be 18x8.5 and 18x11. I'd have the new wheels come with a fresh set of General GMax tires. Then, in the fall, I'll have a set of all-season tires put on my current wheels. Assuming I go that route, I'll need to store one set of tires and wheels 365 days per year. I see 4 storage methods:

1. Stack them in a corner or on a dolly and put them off to the side. Like so:

2. Put them in a rack perpendicular to the wall:

3. Store each individually, flat against the wall on a hanger:

4. Or go full Rube Goldberg and have a ceiling mounted lift:

The advantage to option 4 is that it gets them completely out of the way, plus I won't have to lift a heavy tire & wheel up high onto a wall. At age 56, I can still do that easily. Not so sure about 8 or 10 years from now. The disadvantage is that it is the most complicated and most expensive (although not that bad at $250). I already have a ceiling mounted lawnmower lift that I installed about 10 years ago and really like. I could get another one just like it for about $600, but since I'd only be using the tire lift twice per year, I can live with the cheaper, manual model.

The advantage to option 1 is that I don't really have to lift the tires & wheels very much. The disadvantage is that it takes up precious floor space.

Options 2 and 3 are cheap - between $50 and $100. And, neither takes up floor space. The disadvantage is having to lift the tires and wheels.

First, put winters on the winter wheels. All seasons are Jacks of All and Masters of None. They work if you can't have a spare set of wheels/tires to switch to, but if you can then dedicated winters are better.

I would go with 1, 3, or 4. Option 1 is probably the best if you have the space as it is cheap, easy, and you don't have to worry about falling tires (especially if you have the space for 2 stacks of 2). Option 4 is probably what I would go with as I like to overly complicate things, though I can picture coming out and finding that the contraption decided it was tired of hanging around and needed and decided that the 996TT looked like the perfect thing to lounge around on...

I was thinking all-seasons rather than winter tires because I'll likely never drive it in inclement weather and I assume the all-seasons will have better dry weather traction than winter tires. The all-seasons would basically be for the temperatures. I would just use them for November, December, January & February as summer tires will work fine for the rest of the year. My thought about going to an extra set of tires & wheels for the winter is a little bit for traction, but mainly to keep from damaging the summer tires during cold weather. I won't be driving the Turbro in the snow.

If you look at the temp ranges for AS tires they actually don't go down much lower than summers do and don't make it to the freezing point. Winters will give you better traction than AS even on dry roads. If you can only have one set of tires, AS works well enough. If you can have multiple sets, however, then dedicated summer and winter tires will give you the best traction year round.

I'm in the same boat on the P!g. Just getting the summers now and will do the winters later.

Just a quick blurb, option 2 for storing tires is a horrible idea, especially if they are gonna be up there a while. The tires like to mold themselves to that beam in the front and leaves for flat spots. When they built our new dealership, the parts department got fancy racks like those. They didn't use the for very long, especially with summer tires. Made it difficult to balance out.
