My new fine German Auto...

Post by Gonzo911 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 10:28 am

Say hello to my 1978 VW Safari (aka Thing).

47HP. 0-60mph Whenever it gets there...

Bought it for our place in Mexico. Nicest one I have seen in person. Previous owner did a great job "restoring" it. Mostly.

Need to add seat belts but as I told Mrs. Gonzo, our odds of actually surviving a crash go up exponentially if we get ejected from the vehicle. However, we would be pulled over 10 times a day by the Policia if we were not wearing them.

It is a total hoot and quite the head turner. Gets more attention than my 997 back home. Check out the pic homies..

What? They don't have internet in Mexico? He couldn't reply to a thread, he couldn't PM, he couldn't post a new topic?

What is that Thing???

They come up fairly regularly on BAT and It's twin is up for auction right now, in San Diego, about 45 minutes left and at $11.5K and climbing.

Look at what Jake Raby is doing these days. This may be one reason he's not around the forums these days.

Yes...I have been awol. And yes...I was in Mexico. And yes...I have internet. Kind of.

KC Banned me a few weeks ago. I think just for fun. I thought I was a goner until I checked today and saw I was back from vacation.

I was saddened to learn that you were thinking about letting KrazyK in here, but I got banned for doing squat. Literally.

Anyway, I'm back. Still trying to figure out this non IB Forum that kinda gives me a headache.

Carry on!
