I have the pleasure of working on MB products. It's not meant to last anymore. The interiors, the engines, driveline. its all been cheapened. Yea, it looks amazing when you buy it or sit in it when its brand new, but give it some time.
I was at a class for the 9 speed transmission a few weeks ago. Just the tools to rebuild it, are about $15k. To service it, you need the MB proprietary computer ($30k without the updates). Not to mention, alot of us came to the conclusion that if you get to the point where it needs to be rebuilt, 9-10 times, there is metal contamination and it would be safer to start from scratch.
Luxury vehicle, start looking at classics. at least that way, you can fix it Jeremy Clarkson style and it will be fine.
