Yeah, you don't realize how massive they are - and once you start strapping 40-50 together...well, at least they're not sealed lead-acid.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Also surprised how light they are too. I don't have anything scientific like a scale, but a single 18650 feels about the same weight as a much smaller rechargeable AA.

The mass difference between the 48-volt sealed-lead-acid battery I started out with is incredible; the main reason I initially used my old-school K2 downhill bike (and exploded the magnesium fork...dammit) was the 40 pound heft of that stupid battery pack, plus about 4 pounds of crap to keep it all attached semi-securely to the bike.

I'm working on my wife's hardtail mountain bike right now; I'm adding a 1000 watt rear-wheel hub motor with a twist (motorcycle) throttle and pedal assist - I think the pedal assist will be much less intimidating than the front-wheel drive thumb throttle setup I have on my bike. It's really unnerving when you give it a little too much juice and pull off a better FWD burnout than the ragged-out Accord next to you...

The aerodynamic drag reduction with no vertical supports below the battery has to be good for an extra 10mph at least plus a 6oz weight savings. Well done!

Non-pro tip: Don't use metal calipers to measure the dimensions of your high capacity 18650...

It didn't let the fire out, but it made my hand buzz and the battery got uncomfortably warm

In the business I believe that to be called a direct short! Bet it didn't take you long to measure it. Sorta like the blacksmith/horseshoe joke...
