Ahh, gotcha, too bad. Is there such a thing as a transmission swap on these cars, or is it too modern (ECU) to perform such an operation? Could be fun to put like a 6-speed from an EVO in it or something.

Manual cars already come with 6 speed transmissions. There is a guy in Russia who went hard on modifying his eclipse into AWD car. His project and skills blow away EVERYONE on here or on the old site. The amount of work he put in the car and amount of fabrication he did is just unbelievable.

And on the unrelated note, I am not feeling the hate for Mitsubishi.

In the 1990s Mitsubishi made cars that absolutely dominated in their respected classes. When it comes to racing, Evo was beyond dominant in WRC and Mitsubishi dominated the Paris Dakar rally for a decade. The 4g eclipse is also beyond capable GT car.

I don't know about that - I've got mad mechanical skills. I changed a HVAC blower motor in my wife's 955 in under 6 hours last week.

Just now I refilled the internal combustion engine's energy source reservoir on my Armada.

Hey, man. You were the one that advocated for ball-busting on this site.

I don't hate Mistubishi. EVO aside, (EVO is great,) the models you've been discussing in my opinion are not their finest works. Mirage especially. I'll admit I don't know anything about 4g Eclipses outside of the fact that Mitsubishi's design efforts after the 2g have been unfortunate.

You NEED to drive the mirage Doc before you judge it. It sounds just like 996, corners like a McLaren, and accelerates on par with traffic.

Used up a few Carfax runs on different options... No cigar. Actually had a great 2006 montero limited that lived in Phoenix all its life pop up next to me, with great car fax showing full services done at the dealer. But color is gold with light brown interior.....

Saw another Montero in Valencia, CA. Great color combo and also a last year of the car. Ad says ton of work was done including the TB and WP.

I reach out to seller to ask about paperwork....

I would ask, "Great! How convenient to have a father that's a mechanic. What shop does he work for?" Not sure how I'd respond to the "baby in ICU" remark. Ugh... you just never know... he could be serious. But why share that information? Sympathy?
