Over the past couple of months, I've noticed a minor vibration coming from below the center console. I thought it might be the well-documented driveshaft bearing carrier, but it has been really freaking cold here this winter. Today we finally had some nice weather and I put the P!g up on the lift to have a look.

Sure enough, the driveshaft had plenty of play right where the carrier bearing is. So, I took off the plate that protects the carrier bearing and got a good visual on the situation. About 80% of the rubber surrounding the carrier bearing was torn. Ugh, well at least I found the culprit. I started searching for info on the options for fixing it. I came across a home remedy called "The Jimi Fix". The name comes from the mechanic who invented it. Here's a link to a very good DIY on how to do this, total cost to repair was about 6 bucks and took about an hour or so. Mechanical skills, on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being really easy, was probably about a 3.

Once I got my P!g all buttoned back up, it drives perfectly. Avoided a trip to the mechanic and at least a $500 repair. Thanks Jimi!!
