Yeah. Don't put stock in that.

Our's has 5 accidents that went through insurance and 3 had police involved (1 where it did the rear ending and 4 where it was rear ended). To this day CarFax and AutoCheck report that it's a no accident car. My Cayenne also has an "accident" (some acidic construction fluid splashed on it) on it too, but it too is clean. I recently pulled the CF on my old Jag wondering where it is and even though I know of 3 incidents with it (hail, road debris, trash company throwing trash down it's side and trashing the paint), it is clean as well.

The only way to really know is to have a really good body shop go over it for you. Many people go by paint meters, but that only tells you if an area has been painted, not why nor how good the job was.

Here's mine:

L92U - Arctic Silver Metallic
C02 - Catalytic converter
437 - 8-way electrical seat, left
438 - 8-way electrical seat, right
537 - Seat memory, left
692 - 6-disc CD

I'm confident someone has fewer options, but my car is pretty basic (17" wheels).

Looks like I may win this one. Is that considered a win or a loss? Not sure, but my only "option" is a catalytic converter!

May have one of the earliest 996 in this group - looks like mine was the 145th cabrio built. Still amazed that whoever ordered it had the superhuman self control to not even check one option box...

I just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd have a potential contender until I saw the previous sticker. This one is from my 99 Carrera tiptronic. More codes than I expected. I need the secret de-coder ring to take inventory. :)
