Now THAT'S a beautiful car!! Love the painted bumperettes as it really cleans up the tail end on a car with color. It's not so noticeable on black, silver, gray, white cars. But, the cars with actual colors look great with painted bumperettes. Those are my favorite OE wheels for a Mark II NA 996 also. Plus, there's just something else about your car that calls to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it . . .

Welcome, fellow Jerseyan. By your Flyers license plate and pastoral setting, I'd say South Jersey, but we're all one big happy family unless you call it Taylor Ham.

Nice car in any case! Red really looks good on these.

Heh. This sounded so much like me and my wife - except the "she blessed it in advance as well" part.

Mrs. S. bought me my first Porsche - an '03 986 - for my 40th birthday. Two years later, when I saw the 996 and wanted to purchase it on an impulse, she ended the text conversation with "Fine - do whatever you want." Now I'm no rube - I know that this does NOT actually mean "Fine, do what you want." It means "that's a dumb idea, you tool." But the 996 was beautiful and I had the "do whatever you want" in writing.

Her expression when I rolled up to the house in the 996 - without the "birthday" 986 - conveyed many things; "I'm sure glad you did this!" was not among them.

Her only stipulation was “install a good radar detector”. Who am I to argue.... The 997 was an impulse purchase but she blessed it in advance as well. She might have thought I’d sell the 996 after buying it but that was never really discussed.

Key to a long marriage is no secrets.
Another key to a long marriage is to not piss your wife off - but in this case, I'm glad I went with my gut. The car turned out to be epic.

Thanks, it's must be my bubbly personality.

Ha, thanks! I fell in love at first sight. Probably over paid too (don't tell the wife she is right), especially considering the cylinders are probably scored. I did get a PPI and they told me scoring was rare. Live and learn. Anyway, I love it - sport seats, red seat belts, no PSM - totally analogue. She's a keeper.

Thanks, South Jersey indeed! I never got into the Pork Roll/Taylor Ham argument. Now if we are talking about Sub vs Hoagie, I can get into that! (It's a hoagie! ;) ) And don't get me started on sauce vs gravy.
