It WORKED!
Rockin' Aero Kit... love the blacked out look.

Did you have the Carrera II wheels painted or did you do them yourself?

The only thing I'd do different with the look is paint the center caps black... makes the Porsche logo pop.

Welcome EPiK! I went to your Instagram account and looked at your trip photos. You've got a couple of other cool pics in there that I'd encourage you to post. Enjoyed the one where you guys were using the wing as a picnic table!

Thx Freak!

I bought the BBS Carrera II wheels partially refinished, happened to be at a custom cycle shop... turns out they do CNC wheels and also powdercoat. I had them go ahead and coat the wheels and picked them up gleaming a few days later.

The silver logo caps you see are from the other silver 5 spoke wheels, my 993 spec Enkei RC5 Carreras. I have a set of plain silver caps I'm considering painting black and hand painting the shields. I didn't have a chance to do it before the NC trip though. I have a list...

this for KCA

Great picnic table! ha! I love it. :D

The picture is a perfect example that proves we 996 owners are not so OCD about our cars after all....

We do get them dirty and yes, still drive them.
We do park on uneven payment.
We don't cover our snorkels every time we wash our cars.
And yes, we may not fix the dings and scratches just like all the other cars.
We don't mind putting oil in the car that is sold at Walmart.
Sometimes we put cheap gas in it too.
We don't freak out at every Ricer Kid that wants to race.
Yes, we can work on our own cars and avoid paying Porsche taxes.
We don't cave in and pay 10 x the cost for a Porsche stamped part that's hand delivered by one of the Porsche family members themselves.
We don't drink the "It's going to explode at any minute Kool Aid"..

on and on it goes

Oh, just don't go extreme redneck and mount a trailer hitch to the back of the car! But if you do, more power to you!

Rock on!!!

I agree with everything in your post B3Freak

I bought this car to drive it. it wasn't perfect, few dings, not great paint on the aftermarket aero.. but the body and drivetrain and suspension was solid, and the car looked cool. and the test drive the guy took me on..sold the car. I couldn't have planned a better route myself..although when it was my turn to drive it, we could not go back that way after he "heated it up"..

I've loved owning this car so far, and already have 2 family road trips in it creating so many memories in just the last 2 months. I've already built mod parts for it, and have plans for more.. just enjoying my daily driving canvas for artistic expression.

and I have learned, if you want everyone to try and race you.. try cruising in GT3 guise, it gets looks and nods from all ages, the attention is cool though, feeling like a rock star on the cheap.

the actual driving experience is why I bought a 911 however. I do love the 996, but it is a stepping stone to keep my Porsche enthusiasm strong..will own a 964 one day, and I'm building a 1988 944 from the ground up pretty much from na/at stock to mt outlaw turbo.. that project is quite stalled however.. space issues.

The other daily driver is a 2003 Infiniti g35 6speed sport coupe. Over the last 3 yrs I've built it into an homage to the GT3RS.. lightweight aluminum everything, bilsteins, eibachs, center exit exhaust, carbon diffuser, various Porsche wheels.. but full accessories and interior. its a fun car and probably as fast or faster than the 996 is right now. But that will change when I finish and tune the 996
