I bought this car to drive it. it wasn't perfect, few dings, not great paint on the aftermarket aero.. but the body and drivetrain and suspension was solid, and the car looked cool. and the test drive the guy took me on..sold the car. I couldn't have planned a better route myself..although when it was my turn to drive it, we could not go back that way after he "heated it up"..

I've loved owning this car so far, and already have 2 family road trips in it creating so many memories in just the last 2 months. I've already built mod parts for it, and have plans for more.. just enjoying my daily driving canvas for artistic expression.

and I have learned, if you want everyone to try and race you.. try cruising in GT3 guise, it gets looks and nods from all ages, the attention is cool though, feeling like a rock star on the cheap.

the actual driving experience is why I bought a 911 however. I do love the 996, but it is a stepping stone to keep my Porsche enthusiasm strong..will own a 964 one day, and I'm building a 1988 944 from the ground up pretty much from na/at stock to mt outlaw turbo.. that project is quite stalled however.. space issues.

The other daily driver is a 2003 Infiniti g35 6speed sport coupe. Over the last 3 yrs I've built it into an homage to the GT3RS.. lightweight aluminum everything, bilsteins, eibachs, center exit exhaust, carbon diffuser, various Porsche wheels.. but full accessories and interior. its a fun car and probably as fast or faster than the 996 is right now. But that will change when I finish and tune the 996
You have a beautiful family EpiK! Protect them from all those crazy nuts our there ... and, make wonderful memories while you still have the energy to make them. :D Oh, and pour your love into your son there... I bet he'd love to help you out in the garage!

He looks excited about the coooool Porsche.... did he ever get a chance to ride up front with you on the trip?

Wow... that's not too far from us. My wife and kids have always like to vacation in Hilton Head and Tybee just up the coast.

Cheers!

Welcome! There are several of us over in Kansas City. A few months ago, we did a joint get together with the St. Louis PCA - we met in Marshall, Missouri at an aviation museum. You should consider driving over to KC for a weekend. Our Kansas City Region PCA always groups events together on a weekend for people who want to drive in from a few hours away so that they can do 2 or 3 events. For example, we do our autocrosses on Sunday mornings in the parking lot at Ameristar Casino. But, we also have Saturday morning breakfast, then normally have a fun run in the late morning, and then a social event on Saturday evening. So, you could come over to KC and stay Friday & Saturday nights at the Ameristar. Maybe catch a Royals or Chiefs game, do Saturday breakfast, a fun run, a social event and then an autocross.

Also, if you are ever just in KC, we do have Saturday morning breakfasts every Saturday at 7:15 am, rain, sleet, snow or shine. We meet at Pegah's Restaurant at 87th & Quivira in Shawnee, KS (a suburb on the west side of town). We always welcome visitors. Here is our website for more info:
