That is an awesome color.

I thought one of your cars was a "clapped out track rat..."?

Thanks for the kind words. I'm late in responding because I may have inadvertently shadow-banned myself. I'm not getting notifications of anything. :?:

When I was hunting for my current 996 I originally was looking for a Tiptronic. I had become very happy with the performance of the ZF 8 speed torque converter (with rev matching) in my 2017 Giulia. The new automatics (not even PDK) are amazing, and on the track they can't be beat. I had also had a 2000 Tip, with the instant access of manual mode and that was very nice. But a 20 year old Tiptronic is expensive when it needs a rebuild...and if you drive it aggressively, it will need a rebuild sooner than later. After all its 20 or so years old. Anyway I ended up with a manual trans because the car was in such nice condition I couldn't pass it up...and it is very pleasant to get back the coordination that comes with driving a manual. Also, down shifting in a manual is much nicer than a Tiptronic, which doesn't have rev matching. Mine is a daily driver and even in traffic, I enjoy it.

I forgot to mention I am 70 years old with a bum left leg. ( I'm getting lazy too ) On the days when I feel sporty I'll put it in manual mode and shift my 911 through the buttons.

I'm 70 years old as well and lazy too. Luckily both my legs work ok right now. Nice thing about the 996 is the clutch is pretty light IMHO.
