Then she pulls it out as I'm obviously watching and sees there is a plastic fork in the cart, so she takes the next cart and puts the forking cart back in the stack.

So I follow her through the store until she isn't looking and put the fork in her cart while she was busy selecting a donut.
Showed this to the Bride of FRUNKenstein, who actually knows DTM. Garnered an extreme eye roll and a laugh.

Congrats to ATM on the ace.

So on the Type R forum somebody asked about the Honda oil minder which tells you when to service the oil and recommends an A 1 vs. B 1 oil service. The difference is allegedly oil filter or not. Honda claims the filter is good for 15,000 miles and oil depends on usage. I flipped out telling them it is stupid not to change an oil filter with new oil. I shared one of what Porsche has said about 15,000 mile oil changes and got this response from one guy:
This reminds me of a friend who bought the first generation Cayman when it was a new model. He told me the oil change interval in the manual was 20,000 miles. He and I went to multiple track events, and he drove it daily, and after a few years, he sold it, without ever having given it an oil change! I was always kinda horrified by the thought.
Some people are very gullible. I told him how track days kills oil and the engine in that car probably has been rebuilt or suffered a catastrophic failure.

My '99 C4 Aerokit car is up for sale again here in KC. The guy I sold it to sold it last year, so I have no idea who the current seller is. The seller says he set it up for "club racing", but I think he really meant that he prepped it for DE events. It's still a great looking car, despite the 170k miles on it.

https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/d ... 29485.html

1999 Porsche 911 C4 with aero kit and turbo twist 18"wheels.

Serviced and certified locally with documented clean bill of health. My intention was to club race the car, so all of the appropriate repairs were made to certify track ready. Lots of time and money invested and all documented. Car runs great!

The major items replaced...
Michelin Pilot Z-rated tires, motor and transmission pulled and mounts replaced for working and inspection access, clutch update, flywheel, RMS, IMS, brakes, front driveshafts, all motor gaskets that were soft or leaking, 60,000 mile service, and chain tensioner paddles.

Yeah, I agree that the $18,500 asking is too rich. That being said, I could see paying the $15,750 that I sold it for (when it had 148k miles), and maybe a bit more based on that recent maintenance. This seller probably paid about $16,000 or $16,500 for it based on the asking price last year. If he truly did an engine & transmission-out service on it, then's he's losing money even at $18,500. But, rarely is money spent on maintenance ever fully recouped.

If it was 3 years from now, so that I had the discretionary funds and the space for it, I'd definitely take a shot at buying it back, maybe even going as high as $16,500. At the moment, though, we are making a push to get our house paid off, plus I've got this really sweet mid-engined, exotic Italian sportscar taking up needed space in my garage that's going up on BaT this fall. :D So, I'm out.
