Enough already, I can't Taycan-y more!

Great driving weather 'round these parts. Was out with some newer Porsches over the weekend. They're becoming so porcine that they make my C4S appear absolutely svelte by comparison. Goodbye small 911, hello Porkshe. And what's with all the rodiculous writing all over them as well. Perhaps their massive girth has had people confuse the new P-cars with a Chevy Impala so now they need a billboard on the back side of the car to advertise the difference.

Long live the 996! What a beautiful car, big old headlights and all.

Ditto! Seems like I remember the purist complaining about how large the 996 was in comparison to the old air cooled 911 cars. I was in Porsche of Atlanta and I couldn't believe how large the 991 was in comparison to my car. bigger... Bigger... BIGGER.... B I G G E R!!!!!! ugh! :?

Does make you wonder why, doesn't it? Every time I walk through my garage I marvel at the small size of the 996...it is perfect. Not plush but not a plane Jane either. Maybe the size increase is for the Armani suit wearing dudes. They are always concerned with "size".
Never gonna make you cry...

You're also supposed to pronounce the "haa" on the key blank - that's how you get the proper "Porsche-haa."
Spiegelei wrote: Sat Jul 21, 2018 1:34 pm It seems my 911 is nudging me towards mainstream rhetoric to refer to it as a .. "porsch".. If fate has it's way.. I might just refer to it as my "Por" car..

That makes me think I need to adopt a Bostonian accent. Porschhh-eh vs Porsche-haa. Going to need one of these on the back to correct everyone

Yeah, I saw that too ... made me nostalgic for some of Hurdi’s efforts. Somehow I’m not sure that a window screen is going to get the job done — when I cleaned out my radiators there was a dead bird carcass in there. I’ve got to believe that would’ve punched right through a window screen

OTOH, I shouldn’t throw too much shade at Home Depot car repair. My convertible top probably needs new tension wires and I’m debating $150 of Porsche parts vs 20 bucks worth of stainless cable and a little bit of basement-workshop fabrication.
