Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Post by 5chn3ll » Sat Jan 06, 2018 1:50 pm

I know this thread can do nothing but pay homage to the testament to lunacy that was RL's Good Week forum.

Where do you all keep your phone when you drive, and what are your favorite 996 driving fashion accessories?

I think it's about time to replace the breaks under the shoes in my stable. What's the best wood to use for the break pads?

Great question. Wood technology has advanced significantly in the past two billion years. The new composites, such as old-growth hardwood chipboard, are often far superior to the single-wood rotors and pads of our forebears.

Question...I drove my 911 out of the driveway and thru a puddle of water! Other than flatbedding it to a dealer for an engine replacement are there any other options? Should I just sell it to Carmax?

There's a gentleman in Texas who will clean and detail the car, removing all rainwater-related damage, and install any bearing, no questions asked, for $59.95. He's like the Earl Scheib of 996's.

Someone needs to set a line on when I drink too much and abuse my powers.

Cool story: I've cut down my drinking by a ton. I know, stupid story. Not because it was interfering with anything, I just thought it was perhaps a bad example for my kids.

What's up, boys? Those arseholes over on Rennlist banned me for a month just for mentioning the "Good Week" thread in an Off Topic thread started by Hacker. No cussing, no nudity or pics, no name calling, no derogatory comments. The thread was about a newspaper article on some random woman who had a string of bad luck and I posted "Also, I heard she was a regular poster in the Good Week in the 996 Forum thread." The next morning, there was a notice when I signed on from il pirata that read, in its entirety, "You have serious problems." That's the entire episode.

Now, il pirata's statement may very well be true, but if that's the criteria, we should've all been banned years ago. :D

Bottom line, they've officially lost their freaking minds over this thing. I guess the Good Week thread really got into Hacker's and gretch's heads. Wildbilly said they eventually deleted Hacker's entire bad luck woman thread after he made a couple of posts in there.

I'd be pissed about the ban, except that it's so laughable that I can't even get worked up over it. I just crack up everytime I think about what it must have been like when Hacker read that post:
Hacker - " Arrrgggghhhh!!! I'll show that bastard who's boss! Hey, il pirata, ban kcattorney for his insolence, and hit him hard!"
il pirata "Jawohl herr kommandant! Oh, by the way, what did he do?"
Hacker - "He said 'Good Week'. And I won't stand for that kind of bullying. Back when I was in high school, people were mean to me. But I'll show him - I'm a moderator now. Bow to my awesomeness!!"

Schnelly, thanks for setting this up.

Oh, and let me be the first to christen the attachment feature.

I guess the real question is how long until there enough people that people start asking really dumb questions so they can be snidely made fun of. That's really the life blood of a thread like this.

In unrelated news, I need to get new shoes on my bomx5ter and I think one of my calibers needs to be rebuilt so I have better breaks.
