El Toro is the closest "big lot" PCA AX I'm familiar with.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

I saw the Beach Boys in concert there after a Padres game back in 1992 (I think). I went to the Holiday Bowl there one year, also.

Regarding PCA autocross, we lost our location over the summer (a local casino with a huge freaking parking lot). We haven't been able to find a replacement locale. For some reason, businesses don't want a buy of yahoos racing their cars around the company parking lot on Sunday mornings. Go figure. :?

Didn't some two bit car museum in your area just buy a multilevel parking structure? You could add a whole new 3D element to the sport!

It's a one-bit operation. In fact, the original name idea was "0."

Too bad it wasn't a parity bit - "Odd" would have been a cool museum name.

Regarding locations for autocross -- our local PCA chapter has/had an arrangement with the police training academy. The club gets access to the academy's driving training facility and uses it (on weekends) for both its driving school and many autocross events. Seems like this might be an option to investigate for those in/near larger cities.

It may be - every time I'm in the area, it seems like civilization has encroached further and further onto the base.

I was at one of the first shows at El Toro when they started publicly displaying the F117 - maybe the late 80's? - and it was pretty damn cool to see it cordoned off with armed guards...pretty good production value for the time.

I don't know if any of the blimp hangars are left - but those were cool also. In the photo below, the little beige metal building next to the column on the left side of the picture is 20+ feet tall...

Oh, don't think we haven't thought about it. And that maybe someone-who's-name-will-not-be-mentioned drove his red Porsche on a test run.

I suggest the name "KC Drift Yo!" for this new attraction.

This will attract a great number of Honda drivers; start collecting lunch trays ASAP.
