ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, taking your car out for a spin is safe, enjoyable, and there are a lot fewer cars on the road! I got some real good 996 therapy on Sunday, and as soon as things aren't "the trash compactor is closing" panicky, I'll get some more done. It just occurred to me that the police might hesitate to stop you, given that you might be carrying something!

Ha, very good point. I know what I’ll be doing later today.

Thanks for asking about us - we arrived back in KC early yesterday afternoon. 19 people onboard our 143-passenger Southwest nonstop flight (which is normally at capacity). Kansas now has a mandatory 14 day quarantine for anyone traveling from the entire State of California, so I’ll be here if you need me.

One of my buddies and his high school senior daughter left Tuesday (2 days ago) for spring break in Mexico. Apparently an entire group of parents and their high school seniors went down Tuesday. Hmm, when we left last Thursday to go to California, we looked at all of the info out there and decided that domestic travel was OK, but definitely would have canceled had our trip been foreign travel. With the dramatic developments that occurred over the weekend, I’m shocked they decided to take that trip.

Speaking of foreign travel, I know we men typically don't get along well with our MILs but sending her to Spain in the middle of this seems a bit harsh!

;)

Hopefully she is doing well? Seems to be a very nice lady from the little bit I met her at lunch. Give her my best when you all talk to her.

Thanks for asking. Yes we are worried about her as she would not survive if she gets it (lots of medical issues). My neice and brother-in-law in Madrid both got it, so they can’t help her out. But, she’s doing fine so far. She just called to wish my wife a happy 50th birthday.

I'm staying away from my pop and his wife - he's robust, but his wife is a cancer survivor who has not bounced back that well from treatment and has some ongoing medical issues. Getting them sick would definitely take her out. While she's not my favorite person, I don't need any more karmic dings...

My wife and 4 friends are scheduled to be back from Playa del Carmen via Cancun to Vancouver on Tuesday. With the airline flight cancellations turns out their flight is the last one back with Air Transat. There was no option offered to return earlier. Odd considering the flights were almost empty. Everybody as of yesterday now being rebooked as the outbound flights are going down empty and the airline wants to fill the return flight. Two weeks of self-isolation when they get back.

Here in Vancouver we made the call to cancel all events with PCA-Canada West Region until April 30 at least. The US border is closed and state of emergency declared in the city. Strange times indeed.
