This was the first superbowl I can remember that I didn't even bother trying to watch. At this point, the superbowl is kind of like an 80's cold-war military parade - sure, I guess it's cool, but I don't think it's as cool as the people who are running it THINK it is.

Some people watch for commercials and the halftime show, both of which failed to inspire me to burn 4 hours working on indigestion and an epic hangover this year. I see enough ads already, and halftime shows, since the episode with Janet Jackson's seven-pound nipple anchor, have been about as interesting as the bumper music library at a Christian talk radio station.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Good point. Takes a lot more than just a QB win.

To be fair, once Danny Snider sucks your soul from your body you're pretty much doomed no matter how good you were.

Remind me again, how many MVP awards did Dak and RG3 win?
How many 50 touchdown pass seasons?
How many 5,000 yard passing seasons?

To be honest. this was an amazing (but boring) game. Both teams defense's did an amazing job stopping the two most powerful offense ever. Defense wins games!
And the punter's did an amazing job pinning each other deep inside the red zone. ;) Best puntfest ever!

Although many will remember this Super Bowl as being the most lack luster of them all, it was definitely a battle of the defenses... and maybe kickers too. I thought they'd never score. Painful.

Sounds like 2017 Carson Wentz who would have won MVP if he didn't get hurt and kinda sucked this year....

Well, 50 TDs and 5,000 yards in a season has only been done twice, so the list of similar guys is pretty short. And it took the only other guy on the list 16 seasons to get it done, whereas Showtime did it in his first season as a starter.

https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2018 ... he-season/

"Mahomes also joined the 5,000-yard club, finishing with 5,097. He finished with 5,097 yards. The only other player to have 50 touchdowns and more than 5,000 passing yards in a year is Peyton Manning, who did so in 2013."

Wentz was on track to have a nice year in 2017. At the time of his injury, he was on track for 40 TDs and 4,056 yards if he had played the entire year (his actual numbers were 33 TDs and 3,296 yards). A fine year. But, to put it in perspective, in all of NFL history, only 7 quarterbacks have thrown for 5,000 yards in a season. In the 2016 season alone, 16 quarterbacks threw for 4,000+ yards.

You're right. There's zero chance he regresses or has the team around him regress in a way that makes him look less stellar over the coming years.
