Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Oh - and Tom has been working his way through all the single old ladies in the neighborhood. Old boy's got game...I saw him hit on a relatively hot mid-20's single mom down the street. He's not just going for the low-hanging fruit. I respect that.
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

I thought we were never gonna post that photo of Hurdigurdiman and his "hot" niece here...
*edit* sorry, wrong photo. Hurdi wears at least three Porsche emblems at all times.

Today I peeked into the garage to check on the battery tender. Yup, all green. Sleeping soundly while the salt and other garbage gets blown in the wind.
Holy cow, I'm bored.

If you're bored, go post on Rennlist (dammit) that you started the car up and let it idle for 20 minutes. One poor bastard did that on the Turbro forum last week, and they broke out the torches and pitchforks.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:29 am Today I peeked into the garage to check on the battery tender. Suggest a JCWhitney bearing as an alternative IMSB replacement for the budget consciousOceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:42 amOr i could start a "which oil?" thread. Or talk shit about one of the vendors.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:32 am

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
ENTIRELY OFF TOPIC. Anyone know anything about Mercedes brake boosters? I feel like the brakes on the "new" 2003 c40 crap wagon are really weak, worse when the car is cold. By weak, I mean the pedal is hard but effort to stop is really high. Brief Googling shows probably a vacuum leak to the booster or the need for a new booster. There's very little DIY on the web that I can find, probably because these hoity toities don't do their own work.
Weirdly, the engine bay looks to have a lot of room, once I get the top cover off. The issue is bad enough I want to fix it, but only if it means the absolutely bare minimium of effort on my part.
