Drove around 40 mile total, but had to stop in at the favorite place for carry out breakfast - Pegah's in Lenexa, KS [metro KC] They get to reopen the dining room next week when Governor Jack-Boot's royal edict allows the restaurants that have yet to go bankrupt re-open.
We always observe the distance thing of 182.88 centimeters [six feet for the Ford owners out there] and one of my better shots got photo-bombed by this red 928 - driven by some guy they call Frunk.
That red 911 in the middle is a brand, new, 1800 mile GT3 Touring with a manual gearbox. VERY nice. We always observe the distance thing of 182.88 centimeters [six feet for the Ford owners out there] and one of my better shots got photo-bombed by this red 928 - driven by some guy they call Frunk.

Here’s a better look at that GT3 Touring, just bought this week by 996outposter Blrmkr. He traded in the twin to my Turbro (except his was 30,000 miles and in pristine condition). Blrmkr is the one on the right. The guy on the left will (hopefully) be a new 996outposter this week. He is a retired Army colonel with a 951 that he’s owned since he was a lieutenant.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Finally built a new VM so I can run Durametric on my Macbook.
Good news: My range 2 count hasn't grown any. I'm kind of ashamed in the Range 1 count...I haven't banged the limiter in the last 20+ operating hours.
Less good news: seeing significant deviation for camshaft position 1...I think it's time for new chain guides. I'll ping Black Forest tomorrow and see what they think.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Heh. I need to do that too. I was halfway through typing a response to OB's Airbag post to offer him my Dura Pro since I don't use it at all. Part of the reason I don't use it is because about the only thing it supported for the P!g was resetting the service intervals. I hopped onto their site just to see what might have changed and now they apparently cover most of it now. (Sorry OB)

Ha! No problem and thanks anyway. My birthday and Father’s Day fall within a week of each other so the wife appreciates ideas for what to buy anyway.gnat wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 12:42 pmHeh. First driving impressions of the new 5w-50... not much. Oil pressure seems higher, I don’t see to remember the gauge going past 5 when cold like it does now, but I could be making that up. Can’t say I’ve noticed a smoother engine or cooler running.

GT3 Touring, manual, would be my dream car. That one is gorgeous.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 7:22 am Here’s a better look at that GT3 Touring, just bought this week by 996outposter Blrmkr. Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
The National Weather Serivce web site revealed that today would be the nicest day of this week. Rain starting tomorrow or Thursday and lasting through the weekend. So the 996 went for another 40 mile tour, just because.
It really is a nice day...sun and 68. When I put the 996 back in the garage I could feel the whole space heating up, so I plugged in the trusty portable fan with the garage door open for a while. The car does not overheat or run hot....but it sure can heat up an enclosed space after a decent run.
Even if it does rain Saturday, I'll likely drive it to the usual Saturday morning thing. It's just good to be OUT and ABOUT!!!
