What did you do to/with your 996 today?

It's just the last 10 years or so that it seems like EVERYTHING between Dana Point Harbor and Laguna Beach is now cemented in and available for monthly lease.

You went to high school in 2002...you're still young and naïve. But you sure as hell applied yourself more diligently than I did in high school...

I took the "drop out of HS, drop out of Job Corp without any certifications (they did make me get a GED), stop going to community college, bullshit your way into a tech support job, then bullshit your way into a programming career" path myself
Funny thing is that it wasn't until I was 35 that I ran into the first company that thought being able to prove I had a diploma or GED was more important than either my 16 years of verifiable experience in the field or the recommendation of one of their senior VPs As I was under 18 at the time that I got my GED, PA wouldn't give it directly to me. Even today they want me to show up in person in Harrisburg to pay the $5 to get a copy of it. After "explaining" the stupidity of that I got her to at least fax me a statement saying that I had indeed passed my GED and include the date it was awarded. Took some more "explaining" to get the HR department to finally accept that as good enough.

It came with territory. I landed, a week later I was in the admissions of DHHS to enter HS as a freshman.5chn3ll wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:29 am You went to high school in 2002...you're still young and naïve. But you sure as hell applied yourself more diligently than I did in high school...

First semester was the hardest by far. I tested at 4th grade reading level in September, and 10th grade in December. So a lot of work went there. The Stem subjects were a breeze, as Russian education was miles away in that respect. In 8th grade I won the district Chemistry "Olympics" and took 2nd in Geography back in Russia, so in US I wisely took Chemistry first and avoided Bilogy the first year.
Sports were definitely the most mind blowing aspect. As there is no such thing as HS sports in Russia. And DHHS was a freaking juggernaut in everything.
I spent just one year at DHHS, but it was tons of fun.

Took it out to run in the new oil. Hot day in KC today - about 90. Cold front due soon so I could not pass up a sunny day run.

I've heard the apocalypse is on it's way down from the North.
We have the annual Oktoberfest All-German Car Show this coming Sunday, where the Porsche, MB, BMW, Audi, VW clubs gather for an informal show.
Is it awful to hope it rains so that I won't have to fool with washing the car and making it spotless? This is always a rain or shine event and this year my mojo has left me.

May the cleaning, polishing and detailing begin!Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.
When I go things like this I just use the California Duster and be done with it.

I will forgive the 904 dude for taking up two spaces. I would take up three if I could figure out to do it with that car.
