You got robbed? We're on our 4th front (aero) bumper and it's never been more than $500 with the latest being in 2016.

The rear, on the other hand, ...

Cayenne is the same way. Cheap front bumper, expensive rear bumper. Always boggled my mind.
Yo Gnat, you think your shop buddy can talk to their bumper buddies and get me $500 deal on a GT3 Mk2 front bumper? :D

Doc brings the wisdom on this one. Be thankful you didn't nose dive and rip your front bumper off. That would have been crazy expensive to repair. The guy that I deal with at the body shop says a replacement Carrera 996 bumper from Porsche is now pushing $2000 for the base version. You add prep, primer, and paint and that bill could be pushin' $3000. Ouch.

Be thankful my friend! ;)
I knew the bumpers were expensive, but dude that's higher than Giraffe pussy.......

Is that a new form of cryptocurrency?

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Today.. drove her to work..

Now last week.. spent the week in Asheville, NC. the family spring break trip and they actually let me drive the 911! A whole week touring the Biltmore estate, driving the amazing mountain roads to hiking at Chimney Rock, driving the Blue Ridge Parkway to 4000'+ elevation.. and driving the long scenic route home thru the Western NC mountains.. the 911 was flawless and averaged over 24mpg but I'm sure that was due to "touring" speeds with the family along.. I would have driven much harder alone or with a PCA group most likely.

Thanks to the family. I'm sure this will be the last long roadtrip all together in the 911.. unless I amputate my 10 yr old's lower extremities

Paint corrections are fun :D

Don't forget a pad brush to clean your pad between sections!

Got a sweet deal on a new Pierburg water pump, Wahler low temp thermostat with housing, and oem metal gaskets from a Rennlister who just sold his 996. I don't need them at the moment but at $158 all-in, I couldn't pass it up.

Waiting for the weather to warm up a bit to replace my coolant tank and motor mounts.

Be good to yourself - do it! Totally reversible if you don't like it, and you could sell either wheel you don't want to take the sting off of the purchase price. IMO - those "prototipo-style" wheels were born to live in our cars. I think you'll love it.
