I happen to think the salt thing is a little overblown (like almost everything with these cars), but man it is no fun working on the suspension/brake bits of a car driven in all kinds of weather. I may have mentioned before, I had a slow brake fluid leak in my old 928 so I bought some OE brake lines. It looks to be the easiest job. I gave up without getting one line off. The connectors between the rubber brake line and the hard line were basically fused together. I finally gave up and took it somewhere, and they ended up heating it up with mapp gas and still had trouble.
So, anyone have any tips on keeping corrosion to a minimum (other than don't drive it)? I am having a hard time keeping this thing in the garage when I'm supposed to.

Well only if KC takes me too a reallllly nice dinner. Being a lawyer, I’m sure he can afford a decent steak house.

Haha thanks buddy! My brother’s girlfriend just bought a Disco for three grand off an auction site. After having it shipped out to Cali they found that it was basically a shitbox. After three grand or so it will be a decent truck. My dad has an LR3 that he’s been teasing me with, saying he’ll buy an LR4 and sell me the LR3. Keeps getting my hopes up and then doesn’t follow through lolDr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:57 amThese two things are so opposite I can't even get them to go in the same quote together.
I'll be thinking of you through April, B-ran. Be safe out there. It is worth it for those gorgeous black-car-on-snow shots

I am inclined to agree with you. But sadly salt does hurt. I was fixing the brakes on my mom’s Jeep and the underside wasn’t looking too great. Her Jeep is only three years old. Honestly I really didn’t plan on driving the car this winter (just dropped the ball on getting a winter vehicle) and it does pain me to a degree knowing what all this winter shit is doing to my baby.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 12:53 pm I happen to think the salt thing is a little overblown (like almost everything with these cars), but man it is no fun working on the suspension/brake bits of a car driven in all kinds of weather. Probably my favorite 996 pic out there!
Could be biased though as that is a near twin of my wife's car.
Of course those are my thoughts after the red mist settles from the memory that he didn't sell it to me!!
