Wow, what the hell? Why would the original owner buy a ME and then have it repainted before delivery? They made other colors back in 2000 - just order one of those.

Well in our case getting a C4 build slot was a 2 year wait and we were given an option to take the dealer's ME when it came in. We passed and continued to wait another year, but I get it they were in a similar situation. I don't agree with it, but I get it.

Of course that is to assume that I believe the story, but I don't sans documentation. I think it was done after the fact, not at delivery. This car has a story and car stories are rarely a good thing...

I think you are correct.

Plus, I love how the ad says it is a collector's car at a non-collector car price. Assuming it ever was a "collector's car," it ain't now.

I would totally be interested in this. Does anyone know, if Car had the factory "hard top delete" option, does this mean I cannot put a hard top on?

Found this and sweetie bought it. $5800, 104k mi. I'm doing clutch and imsb. I think cam chain pads will be due too. She loves it. Hadn't driven a stick in nearly 20 years and drove it home like a champ. Drives nice. I guess I just added another car to bust knuckles on.. Oh, Meridian Metallic if you were wondering. (Doesn't everyone have a water heater sitting in their driveway??)
