Hmm, asking $16,500 for this Targa. Nothing suspicious about that.

And yeah, I think he accidentally left the PDK in the text for his last scam.

I love this bit:
with adult driven hwy miles
Thought #1, I'm glad they weren't letting their toddler drive it.

Thought #2, I'm and "adult" and know how I drive ours on the highway...

As to your question/theory, I think there is a good chance you are correct.
in excellent condition both inside and out
Yet the steering wheel looks nasty and you can see other wear around the console. Those signs tell me that the seat covers are not there simply because they love brown seats with HotWheels flames in a gray interior car...

Given that he "drove like an adult" past honesty about the interior that makes me highly suspect about the rest of the car.

If you are interested in such a car the price is certainly too hard to ignore, but I'd make the owner drive the car (so he can't try to screw you if it blows up while you're driving) to a shop you trust for a rotor rooter level PPO.

Yeah, but the engine is so shiny in the pics. Plus it comes with a car cover. That's gotta be worth something.

The car is far from excellent condition, but still a great deal for $10K. But I always have a good laugh when people describe the condition of their cars. This one is not up to the excellent mark, but still a good deal. The cosmetic stuff can be fixed easily, but I would be more concerned about the condition of the motor (e.g. no IMS replacement mentioned) and it looks like the convertible top is in desperate need of service. Fortunately, my cabriolet had a brand new top and it was put on perfectly and so I'm a lil' biased when I see one that is sagging or showing gaps around the edges.

2001 Boxster with 139k miles for $5,600 asking. Most beautiful color over black. Manual. Not perfect according to ad, but doesn't look too bad. If interested, I'm happy to go check it out for you.
