Reppin' 996Outpost @ CFOS
I spent Friday-Sunday at the Autoclub Speedway volunteering at California Festival of Speed. Saturday is the biggest day; the 996 corral was overflowing with 996's. Cuda and I distributed about 100 of the 996Outpost.com cards. I had the giant-ass 996Outpost.com decal on my rear window all weekend as well...
The really cool part was the feedback I got from the folks I got the chance to speak with - to the person, everyone I talked with liked the idea of the site and the goal of building community behind the 996.
It was definitely worth baking my brains out in the Fontana sun working traffic control, Autocross, and track tours for the chance to meet some 996 fans and share the site info with many more.
On Sunday, I was one of the guide cars for track tours (people pay $30 to drive a few laps of the track during the lunch break)...it was great fun shepherding people around the track and trying to keep my car as large as possible in the rear view of the GT2 in front of me.
Cuda911 gets extra credit for slapping the new 996outpost.com decals on both sides of his track tramp! Thanks, Mike!
Here's the '99 (in sticky-tape livery) as guide car #2... ...and the GT2 who kept sandbagging and then tear-assing down the track...

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Awesome Dallas! Looks like a fun event to attend. I could have been in California for this too, was invited to come over to LA...oh well.

I didn't get there until early Saturday afternoon. There were a lot of 996's in the parking lot, including a nice gray GT2.
