Using either a larger trans jack or the standard support jacks work great. I have both and tend to use the support jack when also doing some heavy bolt breaking and it is a lot nicer more precise to use when lowering the engine.

Trying to find one that has fold able legs (like a tripod), so that it can be stored under my tool box. I may end up making one myself.
