Oh HELL YEAH! Although I meant Elmers type paste glue not the wonderful rubber cement to which you refer. You do know sniffing that sh!t causes brain damage...wait that could explain much.

B-3, he bought a new 991 and this 07 C4S is his 2nd car. I highly doubt he wants one of those 996's with the horrible IMS bearing history 8-)

after I cancelled my flight for the 2nd time, I sent seller an email and text letting him know that I might be back in touch with him in a couple of weeks and I'd probably buy it if still available. I'm starting get "backing out" remorse and a little bummed I didn't go thru with it at $31.5.

I'll keep you posted. And it's always good shooting the shit with you guys!

Happy Father's Day!

Ah, darn. Guess he’s too fine heeled for us lowly 996 owners. Does he know that my car will *stick* with you through thick and thin?

Ps. How do you “shoot the shit”? We shoot the bull down here in the south. Is that a Washington thing? :D

As someone that loves to negotiate, don't let ego get in the way because you need to win. I've learned this the hard way (repeatedly) and still catch myself doing it even though I know better. I've lost good deals over being stubborn, only to kick myself afterward. Sometimes I just can't help it. And talking yourself into disliking the guy can work against you. Either the value is there or it isn't. If you like the car and the price is below market value (I don't know either way), don't hesitate and risk losing it unless you believe you can easily replicate the deal on a similar car. Buy the ticket, fly down alone, and enjoy the drive back. In time the wife will forgive you, and until then you'll have a beautiful ride to enjoy while she gets over it. Just remind her that she can come along on the next fly out/drive back Porsche purchase. ;)

B-3: "Shoot the shit" must be a NY thing 8-)

Flat6: Good advice - I'm not sure if it is menopause or just a blocked artery going to my wife's brain but just this morning we got into an argument.
We went for our walk this morning and she tells me how disappointed she is that we are not going to get the car/drive thru wine country.
I explained the reason I cancelled the 2nd time was her telling me she made plans and I thought it would be best to cancel and take the pressure off with so much stuff going on?

She responds "I never said that". I tried reminding her what she told me but there is no point - She insists she never said that.

Buying a car and working seller is one thing, figuring out psychotic behavior from your menopausal wife is a whole nother story. There's no winning. I am just a loser no matter what I say.

Yup, that seems likely. Around here, “the shit” gets shot on a regular basis. In fact, I would guess that “the shit” and “the breeze” get shot most often, with “the bull” running a close third.

Oh boy, Groove. We've all been there, so I feel your pain. One of the many advantages of being a female is getting to be right even when they aren't correct. That's why man invented alcohol... and motorcycles.

Hey man, if it's meant to be, it will be there in 2 weeks. If not - tell yourself it blew up 500 miles later and find a 997.2 C4S or 991 to really teach your wife a lesson.

That was actually the last line of my wedding vows.
