PSE(Porsche Sound Exhaust) connection/switch question

Post by Groovzilla » Mon Jul 30, 2018 2:06 pm

All,
Just purchase 2007 C4S and the PPI discovered disconnected switch on the Porsche Sound Exhaust - PSE is always in the "on" position.
They sent this photo of the connection and looks like the on/off tube connected to switch is "capped"(RED ARROW) - Seems that this tube would perhaps be connected to the female insert(GREEN ARROW) next to it for switch to be able to activate it?? I also noticed the tube(BLUE ARROW)and not sure if this could be part of the connection??

Even though I have always had the PSE on all the time in my other C4S, I'd like the switch to be able to activate it.

Anyone familiar with the switch workings on the PSE exhaust?

Thx in advance!!

Hey Groov,

I don't have a shop manual for the 997, but here's the parts breakout.

Does this help? Can you post more pictures? I can't tell where that middle line is coming from.

IMHO, my best guess is that capped line is the vacuum line that connects to the electric change-over valve. See image. Seem like it's connected to the bracket to support it. The center output on the change-over value is connected to a y-hose that feed both vacuum units that open and close the PSE valves on the exhaust.
