No, I don't see where I said it was a pos nor where I said that to her. I feel the same way about her car as what I said to you about your car. It's a lot of car to learn in.

Thanks for the honest review. I guess to be expected, then. Doesn't change my mind about the design: Jaw-dropping. You're lucky to get to ride along, let alone instruct in it! For some reason I thought I saw a review where people were saying it's an honest contender with the GT3 (non-RS). Maybe that was exclusive to the AMG GT.

I've driven a 991 GT3 and it's much simpler to drive fast than the AMG GT S that she has. The power delivery is more predictable in the GT3 and the suspension in the GT3 is world's better (and I'm told the GT3 suspension is wonderful when street driven). The Merc is a great car but my takeaway is that they built a road car and then tweaked it to be trackable. Pretty sure the GT3 was built in the opposite direction.

The AMG GTR is the more of the GT3 contender. The suspension is dialed up for the track, its only problem is putting the power down in a controlled manner. For whatever reason, Merc and AMG still don't know how to put power down without using traction control, which kills most of the fun, but that one you can dial it down.

^^ I bet that's it - I've got my terminology all mixed up and that's confusing people  I think I did mean the GTR - the one with the fixed CF wing on the back, etc.

It's from his years in the Marines. Take a newbie, tear them down to the core, and build up from there.

I have read two threads in the last few weeks addressing a post mortem of an accident at a track day. In both threads the instructor said "I knew it was bad and I almost said something but I didn't."

I'll just leave Ross Bentley's thoughts here:
