Yeah, Sean is not saving it for the next guy, for sure.

My car is currently running amazing (knocks on wood).

If I could freeze it in its current operating condition and be able to have it always like it is I would be thrilled. Alas... I'm sure I'll find something to fix when I put it up tomorrow to get it ready for Friday.

Fun incident today.... I had a new student. Driving a Cayenne! As he hit the brakes at the end of a long straight, I suddenly heard a loud noise.... his driver's side headlight assembly went flying out of the car and went bouncing down the track!

That's a new one. That'll only be $2789.99 plus labor.

So, here's a fun one that had nothing to do with the actual driving. There's a guy at one of the groups I instruct with who sucks. I mean, not as a driver specifically, but as an instructor. He very well may mold people into racecar drivers extraordinaire but he sucks. Every student I have ever had who had him previously points him out and makes a snide comment about him. Usually that he yelled at them.

I've been "promoted" to senior instructor with the group and I am friendly with the guy who is in charge but I'm not exactly his right hand man. But I do think he values my opinion. What's my play? Bear in mind that despite my general awesomeness I've only been instructing for about 20 months and there a guys in this game that have more days on track than I have laps, so on some level I need to know my place.

Note to self: Regularly check headlight locking mechanisms...

Hopefully it was an older Cayenne with halogen headlights. Otherwise DT is right. Ouch!

Encourage those students to note their concerns/issues to the head of the group.

Unless you witness him doing something that endangers someone or violates track/group policies, I'd otherwise stay out of it.

All of our students fill out an instructor evaluation form at every event. Maybe implement it there?

He had that light replaced at the dealership. I took a look at his car. They neglected to turn the hex screw that raises the wire clip to lock it in. I hope they will own up to it.

Ugh. I won't hold my breath that they will, especially if he mentions "while I was braking hard at the track"...

The word "track" needs not to be mentioned!
